First contact, bookings, quotes, deposits & dates
Q: When should I book in my bridal gown alterations?
A: We recommend, the day you order your gown with the bridal boutique to call us and book in the same day your gown is expected to arrive at the bridal gown store, from that date we can bring your day forward or push back (2weeks) where necessary, as long as you have a placeholder. We recommend at least 12 weeks, however 10 weeks is fine too. Some clients come earlier than 12 weeks and we touch base and communicate along the process. As a Guide to avoid any rush fees we say 6 weeks the most minimum, however we are able to complete wedding gown alterations in a matter of days with superior attention to detail and accuracy in urgent cases beyond a brides control.
Q: Is there a booking fee for my appointments?
A: Yes there is a $100 (1hr) $50 (1/2 hr) booking fee payable before your first consultation appointment. The deposit is credit towards your total order value on the day of your alterations.
Q: How long are the appointments?
A: Your first consultation appointment will be 1hr or ½ hr depending on what appt you select. Any subsequent appointments are payable due to changes, however pick up appointments are 15 mins.
Q: How many appointments will I need?
A: You will only need one other appointment apart from your initial consultation, that being the ending with a final fitting appointment. Unless you request new alterations. We will give you the final dress collection date & time at the time of payment when you drop off your gown. 15 mins pick up times.
Progress fits: If a bride will feel comfortable to progress in stages known as “progress fit sessions” please let us know at the time of your fitting where we will draft a timeline suitable for your needs to coincide with progress fit sessions. (fees apply)

A: Shoes, undergarments inclusive of bra, spanx or skims. Bring any inspiration pictures or mood boards/style inspirations.
Inspiration is essential when we are creating custom sleeves, overskirts, Cover-alls, reception party gowns or veils and other accessories you will need to make bespoke for your special day.
Q: How much will my bridal gown alterations cost?
A: Some alteration packages start from $299. However this varies based on the finish or a bride's needs and desires of her special gown! As a very loose guide most brides spend from $299 - $499. Please consider difficult details of sequin or beads as this incurs a surcharge. Please note this is a price guide only, all work will be quoted on a case by case basis based on the amount of alterations requested and how detailed the gown is. Custom accessories are an additional cost, we can quote you by inspiration pictures and fabric preference.
Q: How many people can I bring to my bridal gown fittings?
A: 2 guests, As our studio is an intimate establishment, guests are limited to 1 in the actual fitting studio & 1 extra guest can sit in our waiting area (swapping)
Q: What’s the process if I lose or gain weight prior to final fitting day?
A: In this case we will recommend a date suitable for alterations to be completed. You will come in for this fit date where Anthony will assess what he can start with. He will draft a critical path fit session plan that we will work towards throughout your fitting sessions. We are flexible and understand wedding planning is stressful, so we can definitely work something out to ensure your wedding gown is enjoyed as intended as a happy and memorable experience for all ladies. As long as there is an order in the system and you’ve expressed your thoughts we know exactly how much time to allocate for this rather than a surprise later on without notice.
Q: Are there rush fees if I want to wait until the shortest amount of time to exercise?
Rush fees (20% total order value) are considered when your wedding date is less than 4 weeks from your fitting appointment, We recommend all brides collect their gowns minimum 2 weeks prior to their wedding date.
Ideally first fittings at 12-8 weeks out from your big day is a healthy buffer and you can always schedule progress sessions (payment required)
Q: Are there any contracts to sign in relation to my bridal gown alteration?
A: Yes we require you to carefully read and sign our standard Terms & Conditions. You will be given a copy of the signed document for your records. We will also attach your measurements to the back of this, any relevant documents and you will receive a copy of the T&C’s e-receipt.

Final fit & before the big day
Q: When will I collect my gown?
A: We recommend collecting your gown 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding as you will have peace of mind and focus on other areas that need your attention for your wedding day, your gown will be completed and look amazing!
We will show you and your guests how to bustle your gown where your more than welcome to take a video of Anthony assisting you at the pick up.
Q: How should I store my gown after I collect it?
A: We recommend always hanging the gown by the hang tape and not the straps.
We recommend storing it in the correct garment bag and relevant procedures to prevent wear and damager (speak with Anthony for some great tips)
It's best to lay it flat on a spare bed if possible as this stops the hem from dropping (growing) as the Skirts on gowns are so shaped that the bias grain is present and this can cause the hem to grow, speak with Anthony about this.
However if you do not have a spare bed to lay the gown on, its best to suppress the hem from gravity to stop any length discrepancy, we will gladly show you some options.
Q: How will I steam my gown?
A:On the wedding day (night before is best to avoid any wet droplets from hand held steamer) steam your gown lightly in areas that have crushed. A lot of brides have a steamer on the day, if your getting married at a venue speak with the hotel staff , however if your getting married overseas speak with your wedding planner to have a steamer available.
Q: Would my gown need any Aftercare?
A: We can recommend you to a dry cleaner reputable for outstanding service and quality located in Sydney’s North. That would be ideal after your wedding day so you can remove any stains easier than at a later date. If I could give early advice for your gown I'd say to be careful with makeup and perfumes as these can leave stains.
