Q: When should I book in my bridal gown alterations?

A: We recommend, the day you order your gown with the bridal boutique to call us and book in the same day your gown is expected to arrive at the bridal gown store, from that date we can bring your day forward or push back (2weeks) where necessary, as long as you have a placeholder. We recommend at least 12 weeks, however 10 weeks is fine too. Some clients come earlier than 12 weeks and we touch base and communicate along the process. As a Guide to avoid any rush fees we say 6 weeks the most minimum, however we are able to complete wedding gown alterations in a matter of days with superior attention to detail and accuracy in urgent cases beyond a brides control.

  • Final fit & before the big day

Q: When will I collect my gown?

A: We recommend collecting your gown 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding as you will have peace of mind and focus on other areas that need your attention for your wedding day, your gown will be completed and look amazing!

We will show you and your guests how to bustle your gown where your more than welcome to take a video of Anthony assisting you at the pick up.

Q: How should I store my gown after I collect it?

A: We recommend always hanging the gown by the hang tape and not the straps.

We recommend storing it in the correct garment bag and relevant procedures to prevent wear and damager (speak with Anthony for some great tips)

It's best to lay it flat on a spare bed if possible as this stops the hem from dropping (growing) as the Skirts on gowns are so shaped that the bias grain is present and this can cause the hem to grow, speak with Anthony about this.

However if you do not have a spare bed to lay the gown on, its best to suppress the hem from gravity to stop any length discrepancy, we will gladly show you some options.

Q: How will I steam my gown?

A:On the wedding day (night before is best to avoid any wet droplets from hand held steamer) steam your gown lightly in areas that have crushed. A lot of brides have a steamer on the day, if your getting married at a venue speak with the hotel staff , however if your getting married overseas speak with your wedding planner to have a steamer available.

Q: Would my gown need any Aftercare?

A: We can recommend you to a dry cleaner reputable for outstanding service and quality located in Sydney’s North. That would be ideal after your wedding day so you can remove any stains easier than at a later date. If I could give early advice for your gown I'd say to be careful with makeup and perfumes as these can leave stains.
